So, what actually happens at a brand campaign shoot?...While it may not be all glitz and glamour, there certainly are some fabulous moments.

If you thought your IG stories were done being filled with models donning the newest Narvvi collection and over-the-top OOTDs, think again. Although it's officially a wrap on our first campaign shoot, "fashion month" is far from over - in fact, it's just beginning! 

In two days, we shot 24 pieces, ate six donuts, drank 20265 Starbucks, slept four hours, and spent 20+ hours on set shooting. Brand campaigns chew you up and spits you out, but it’s always, always worth it. To document our experience, we headed backstage with our Polaroid camera to capture the storm before the calm – moments of chaos before each shoot. More often than not, backstage is a warehouse clouded with hairspray, loud music, and plumes of e-cigarette smoke. But it’s also a place of legends, with artists like Clay Reid (Head artist at NARS) Jameso (Iconic Fashion Photographer), Jade Pointon (Hair extraordinaire) and Phil Philipos Davies (Traxx Video Productions) creating legendary work that we were lucky enough to witness firsthand.

This year’s campaign was a display of beautiful natural makeup looks. NARS’s pigmented shadows were a firm favourite, along with loose Westman Atelier's cheek sticks and highlighters.

From natural makeup looks to incredible hydrated, glossy skin. With a collection such as Narvvi, we wanted to show off exactly what the product could do..and que, glowing (yes, we mean glowing) skin!

Whether it’s eaten or not, backstage catering is no joke. A running list of everything we saw this campaign: Starbucks, fruit platters, Krispy Cream Donuts,  Flaming Hot Doritos, Croissants, Bagels, sandwiches, salads, and a lot of coffee. 

Model Nifah for Narvvi

Look at literally any makeup artist’s kit and you’re sure to find at least one of the following: Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentre, Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water, or Avene Thermal Water Mist. The reason being is that because French skincare is so gentle, it won’t irritate a model who has had her makeup done and removed three times that day. Take a makeup artists word for it: If you’re stuck on what skincare product or brands to spend your money on, you really can’t go with with French skincare.
